The Visit Knowle team were humbled and delighted to win two awards at the Solihull Chamber of Commerce 2024 Awards evening. The organization was awarded two prestigious accolades: Solihull’s Award for Excellence in Contribution to Community and Solihull’s Award for Excellence in Hospitality & Retail.
This is what the judges had to say –
Solihull’s Award for Excellence in Hospitality & Retail: Knowle is full of locally run, independent businesses and we thrilled that judges recognised the work we are doing to support all our local businesses. Judges said “Recognising the challenge small, local independent businesses face in today’s corporate environment, Visit Knowle has a clear business plan and strategy to sustain the long-term future of Knowle and its businesses. The collaboration of business, community groups and residents to form this predominantly voluntary organisation has proven itself a powerful voice in keeping Knowle front and centre for shoppers, diners and visitors, helping businesses and the area prosper. The judges felt that Visit Knowle are a great example of a community-led organisation driving support”.
Solihull’s Award for Excellence in Contribution to Community – “Visit Knowle were chosen for their demonstrable impact of their work. Over 1,600 hours of voluntary time and support were demonstrated with a member-base of residents and businesses that is growing at a great rate. Their local support is fantastic to see. How they go above and beyond also supporting their local area more than the basis of their business is honourable”.
Co Founder, Dave Pinwell said “We are delighted to win these two awards. We’ve come such a long way in the five years we have been supporting our village, much further than we ever imagined at our first meeting. We couldn’t do this without the work of our team and the support of businesses, community groups and residents.
Nick Lyons said “Looking forward, there’s so much more to do. Our five-year plan focuses on continuing our work with projects that make a positive impact and looking at raising funds to deliver even more projects that support our village”.
