About Us
Visit Knowle is a business led body, formed in May 2019 by a group of volunteers from businesses, community groups and residents. We love where we live and work and strive to help Knowle and its businesses prosper. Our work has been shaped by extensive business surveys and engagement. In June 2020, we became a Company Limited by Guarantee.
Our Vision
To sustain the long-term future of Knowle by helping businesses to flourish and by providing a compelling experience for our residents & visitors. In simple terms, we want to raise the bar for our businesses and everybody who visits Knowle.
Visit Knowle work to deliver real improvements to Knowle and to enhance our community spirit in order to provide a brighter future for all. Work centres on four pillars - promoting Knowle and its businesses, street scene improvements, business support and events.

Visit Knowle is a volunteer-led organisation, led by a board of Directors consisting of local business owners, community group representatives and residents.
We’re all passionate about Knowle as a place to live and work and strive to maintain the long term future of Knowle by helping businesses flourish and by providing a compelling experience for our residents & visitors. In simple terms, we want to raise the bar for our businesses and everybody who visits Knowle.
Our work
At Visit Knowle, we’ve got four brilliant teams working on projects that bring real value to our village. Each team is powered by a mix of volunteers, from local businesses, residents, and community groups, all bringing their passion, ideas and time to help Knowle thrive. The work we do is shaped by our Business Plan, which reflects the priorities of our members. Together, we focus on what matters most: helping local businesses grow, supporting a vibrant village centre, and creating a great experience for everyone who lives in or visits Knowle.
Whether it's boosting footfall, championing local independents, or making the village more welcoming, everything we do is about raising the bar, for our businesses, for our community, and for Knowle’s future.

Marketing
We can be found on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Threads promoting Knowle as a place to visit. Whether you’re visiting for shopping, dining, drinking, beauty, wellbeing, business or heritage, we’ve got it covered. Our marketing team work hard to promote the village - culminating in two Solihull Chamber of Commerce awards for excellent in hospitality and retails & contribution to community.
Our marketing team
- create +900 social media posts per year (we have +6000 Facebook followers and +3900 Instagram followers)
- create blogs for our website and share guest blogs from our members
- curates the content on this website
- invites footfall to Knowle via social media, press releases, networking, events….
- Organised complimentary photoshoots for around 40 businesses per year
- Champions Knowle in Solihull on local tourism forums.

Events
At Visit Knowle, we work hard to bring brilliant events to the village, with a programme that has significantly grown in the last year or so. From big community celebrations like Coronation and VE80 Celebrations to smaller social gatherings, each one is designed to bring people together and showcase everything we love about Knowle.
Whatever the occasion, we love bringing the village together.Here are just a few of the highlights:

High Street Celebrations – A joyful day of markets, street food, live entertainment and community stalls in the heart of Knowle

Social Evenings – From Quiz Nights to Balls to Christmas Bashes, we bring people together for good food, good music and good times

Late Night Shopping – Supporting local shops & businesses with a festive village buzz.

Artisan Markets – Packed with creativity, crafts and community spirit.
- Party in the Park – We campaigned to bring this much-loved event back to Knowle which is delivered and managed by the fantastic team behind Solihull Summer Fest.

Street Scene
We recognise the value of an attractive, well maintained street scene and we worked with other organisations to maintain flower beds and audit furniture, seeking replacement and new furniture and planters as required.
Our street team has:
- delivered 30+ knitted hanging baskets
- joined a working party agreed to improve the area around the run down bus shelter / old toilets with Knowle Society & Knowle & Dorridge Lions
- Progressed with 'Welcome to Knowle' signage
- Upgraded the infrastructure for the Christmas lights including upgrading external sockets and installing timers
- Secured Gateway to Knowle NCIL funding
- Discussed progression of Knowle Precinct renovations - we now have ongoing communications between the landlord & Visit Knowle.
- introduced an attractive Parklet on the High Street

Business Support
Visit Knowle are here to support our businesses through a number of projects.
Work includes:
- Campaigning on the appearance of buildings in Knowle and parking
- Networking events per year supporting Knowle independent businesses
- Meetings with the Council/ Mayors and our local MP voicing members' concerns.
- Exclusive WhatsApp group with 100+ business owners.
- Regular newsletters
- Matchmaking interested businesses coming to Knowle to landlords & agents & tracking vacancy rates
- Power in numbers - Visit Knowle amplifies your voice
- Signposting businesses to support
- Securing funds for projects to develop the village centre

Blogs
Knowle is derived from the Saxon ‘Cnolle’ which means a small hill. The village is steeped in history, with many Grade II listed buildings. Knowle is now a haven of beautiful independent shops & restaurants, and an up-and coming sought after area to live and work.
