The Chair of Visit Knowle, Nick, has praised the dedication and tireless efforts of the organisation’s volunteers and member businesses, whose combined commitment continues to make a real difference across the village.
From persuading Solihull SummerFest to bring back the much-loved Party in the Park to installing new planters and seating along Knowle High Street, the Visit Knowle team has been at the heart of many visible improvements to the village. Volunteers contribute around 1,000 hours each year – helping to plan and deliver community events, superb social media visibility, support local businesses, and ensure Knowle remains a vibrant, welcoming place to live, work, and visit.
“Our volunteers give so much of their time, passion, and expertise to make things happen,” said Nick, Chair of Visit Knowle. “Whether it’s organising events, listening to business concerns, developing marketing ideas, marshalling events or applying for grants, their impact is immense. Visit Knowle simply couldn’t achieve what it does without them.”
The organisation also plays a key role in representing local voices – consulting on empty units in the High Street, engaging with the council and government bodies, and actively addressing issues such as parking, which remains a priority for many businesses and residents.
Nick also extended his thanks to the local businesses who support Visit Knowle through membership – “Our business members make so much possible – their support funds community projects, promotions / marketing, and events that bring Knowle together. We’ve recently launched a Rewards Scheme too, and I’m really excited to continue developing this to give local residents a direct way to support our amazing businesses!“
Behind the scenes, Visit Knowle’s board meets monthly to plan events, shape marketing activity, seek out grant opportunities, and make sure the village’s voice is heard. Nick added, “It’s an extremely fulfilling role and a real privilege to work alongside such a passionate and energised team. If anyone reading this would like to get involved – whether as a volunteer, business member, or resident supporter – we’d love to hear from you. Please get in touch at hello@visitknowle.co.uk or via our social media channels – @visitknowle.”
