The festive season is just around the corner – and in Knowle, that can only mean one thing: our much-loved Late Night Shopping and Christmas Light Switch-On is back! Mark your calendars, because this year’s celebrations take place on Thursday 27th November. It promises to be a magical evening full of community spirit, twinkling lights, and festive cheer.
A Community Favourite
There’s something truly special about the switch-on in Knowle. It’s more than just an event – it’s a night where the whole village comes together. Friends and neighbours catch up whilst waiting for Santa, keeping one eye out to try and catch an Eric Lyon’s sausage roll. Children’s eyes light up as they see Father Christmas arriving. The singing, the sound of groans following the traditional Christmas jokes, and the general chatter all fill the High Street and help put us all in the Christmas spirit.
The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and unmistakably festive. With twinkling lights, smiling faces, and plenty of festive spirit, it’s one of those evenings that captures the heart of our community.
Christmas Lights & Festive Fun
From 4:00pm, the evening kicks off with music and entertainment to set the mood. Then, all eyes turn to Knowle Parish Church, where Santa will help lead the countdown to the grand light switch-on – with a few of the vicar’s notorious Christmas jokes thrown in for good measure!
And that’s not all… Keep your eyes peeled as Christmas characters pop up around the village throughout the evening, bringing plenty of photo opportunities and festive fun.
Shopping, Fizz, and Festive Offers
Knowle’s fantastic independent shops will be opening their doors late into the evening, offering everything from unique Christmas gifts to seasonal treats. Many shops will be serving up fizz and nibbles to enjoy while you browse, along with exclusive special offers just for the night.
